is an 85-bed regional medical center, operating a level III trauma
center, with valley wide ambulance service and flight for life relations.
We are located in the middle of the lovely San Luis Valley of South
Central Colorado. We are the largest medical facility in the valley,
and work closely with two large clinics; one dedicated to specialists
and the other to family practice and outreach. As our vision states,
we are committed to making exceptional healthcare personal.
THE
SLVRMC TEAM
The
Medical Staff
The physician who admits you is responsible for directing your care
while you are in the hospital. Your physician, as the coordinator
for your treatment program, should be consulted if you have questions
about your illness.
The
Nursing Staff
Twenty-four hour nursing care is provided by a team of professional
registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and certified nursing
assistants (CNA). A charge nurse is responsible for directing and
coordinating nursing care on each shift and unit. Please feel free
to contact your charge nurse or the Medical/Surgical Director if
you have questions or concerns.The
overall responsibility for the quality of nursing care hospital-wide,
rests with the Chief Nursing Officer. Please feel free to contact
her if your concerns or questions are not solved or resolved on
the nursing unit by nurse and physician.
Pastoral
Care Services - Hospital Chaplains
SLVRMC believes that total patient care demands attention to the
spiritual, as well as the physical and emotional needs of each patient.
Members of the Pastoral Care Staff are available to assist you,
whatever your religious tradition. In addition, your priest, minister
or rabbi is always welcome to visit you while you are here. If you
need the phone number of your nearest spiritual caregiver of your
choice, or if you wish to have the hospital chaplain paged, please
contact your nurse or page directly at 852-6700
Patient
and Family Services
Social workers are assigned to each patient care area and are trained
to help patients and family members deal with financial, social
and emotional problems that relate to illness or hospitalization.
Members of the department work with patients and families to help
deal with long-term illnesses and rehabilitation and are involved
in discharge planning.
Business
Office and Accounting
A representative from the Patient Accounting Department can answer
questions about your hospital bill and help you interpret financial
policies and billing procedures at the hospital. You may contact
Patient Accounting by calling 587-1267 Monday through Friday from
8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Housekeeping
Your room and bathroom are cleaned every day by a member of our
Housekeeping staff. If there is a housekeeping problem in your room,
tell your nurse, and it will be taken care of as soon as possible.
Other
Personnel
During your stay you may be visited by many other healthcare professionals,
including personnel from the Laboratory and the Imaging Services
Departments, Physical or Occupational Therapists, or Respiratory
Therapists. In addition, the SLVRMC family includes many behind-the-scenes
workers, such as accountants, engineers, secretaries, food service
workers and others who contribute greatly toward your well-being
while you are here.
