Welcome to the ARTrium at San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center
We have created this space as part of our Mission to provide quality, compassionate care in a quiet and healing space. We are working with local artists throughout the Valley to reflect the culture and life of the San Luis Valley and remind our patients, visitors and staff of the creativity and beauty all around them. With exhibitions, community receptions, and children’s art displays, the ARTrium program is designed to enrich the relationship between healthcare and the community.
Art retains the power to enhance many aspects of life, and its benefits have been well-documented in healthcare settings. It is our intention to serve the patients, visitors, and staff who come to our hospital by offering a haven of comfort and caring vision. We know that people often come to our facility with feelings of stress, confusion and upset. Our Vision statement is “Making Exceptional Healthcare Personal”, and we hope that this environment is calming and comforting for you.
Please take time to rest and enjoy the artwork presented here, and feel free to leave comments or suggestions in the guest book or with our Ambassadors.
The ARTrium is a community collaboration project. Since the arts are an important part of Alamosa and the SLV the hospital decided to be sure to support local artists while also providing an interesting atmosphere for our visitors. The ARTrium is one segment of the plan, and furnishing the new Medical Office Building, Stephanie L. Miner, and new waiting areas with local art is another.
The ARTrium is composed of two sections. The first is our featured artist who displays their work for two months. The artist's statement is included with each show so people can become familiar with the artist.
The second section of the ARTrium is dedicated to the art of Valley youth and those shows alternate every 3 months. Every six months the hospital hosts a small wine and cheese reception and invites the community members and the artists who have displayed the previous 6 months
