Robert Marshall, MD

Robert-MarshallRobert Marshall, MD, joined the staff of SLVRMC in June 2009 after 18 years in private practice in Louisiana as a General Surgeon.  His areas of interest include breast cancer, (he was the co-founder and medical director of the Kitty Degree Breast Cancer Center in Monroe, Louisiana), thoracic surgery and advanced laparoscopic surgery.  

He enjoys the continued development of surgical services at SLVRMC with David Geiger, DO.  As part of this, Dr. Marshall also chairs the Level 4 Trauma Center program at SLVRMC, which achieved a zero dificiencies score from the State of Colorado Trauma Review Board in 2011.

Dr. Marshall is a graduate of LSU Medical School and completed 5 years of a general surgery residency and two years of cardiothoracic surgery at University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  

He is board certified in both General Surgery and Thoracic Surgery, a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (ACS), member of AOA Honorary Medical Society, and was the past President of the Louisiana Chapter of the ACS and present board member of the Colorado Chapter of the ACS.

Dr. Marshall and his wife, Kim, enjoy the small town, rural flavor of the San Luis Valley and the outdoor activities it provides. They have three adult children, Greg, Courtney, and Glenn.
