BUILDING
AND REMODELING
Our institution entered this world as a small 24 bed hospital and
has since tripled that capacity. However, further expansion is
critical to keep pace with current medical care. The most recent
renovation of the 3rd floor was completed in 1994. We are pleased
to announce a June 2004 opening date for a new In-Patient Rehabilitation
Unit. In addition, remodeling is occurring for a first ever Pediatric
Unit and the Stephanie L. Miner Women’s Imaging Center.
The new Rehabilitation Unit enables our community members to
heal from strokes, orthopedic injuries and other similar injuries
here in the San Luis Valley. No longer will family members of recovering
individuals endure long stays in urban areas and at least a 2 hour
drive over a snowy mountain pass in order to support their loved
ones.
The new Pediatric
Unit with specially designed pediatric rooms is placed strategically
near the nurse’s station and will make
the smallest of visitors and their families more comfortable during
their stay in the hospital.
Our current and future efforts are part of a long-term
plan to upgrade SLV Regional Medical Center into a full service regional
hospital. Your donation to the building and remodeling efforts will
enable the hospital to achieve these important steps in our goal.
