ROMP: Employee Responsibilities and Expectations

In order to insure the best medical care and management of your Worker's Compensation injury here are some responsibilities and expectations for the employee.

Employee Responsibilities:

  • Read and understand your "Company Policy" regarding medical treatment for work-related injuries and illnesses.
  • Inform your employer as soon as an injury occurs so that the proper paperwork may be filled out and proper procedures followed to obtain medical attention.
  • If you receive medical treatment by anyone other than an unauthorized medical provider you will be responsible for payment of that treatment.
  • Keep all appointments.
  • If you miss two appointments in a row your case will be closed. If you need to cancel your appointment do so as within 24 hrs of the scheduled time, and reschedule as soon as possible.
  • If you are seen in the Emergency Room after hours, you must contact the Regional Occupational Medicine Program at 589-8110 to notify them of your ER visit and to schedule your next appointment with ROMP.
  • Be sure you fully understand your work restrictions at all times, if you have any.
  • Keep your employer informed about your progress when you are off work.

The Employee must:

  • Obtain an appointment as soon as possible.
  • Receive a Report of Workability form that outlines work restrictions, if any.
  • Have all treatments and referrals accomplished in a timely manner
