Cardiopulmonary Services

The Cardiopulmonary Services department at SLVRMC provides coverage 24-hours-a-day, seven days a week. Our staff of Certified and Registered Respiratory Care Practitioners provide a full-range of therapeutic and diagnostic procedures in the inpatient acute care setting and on an outpatient basis. The department also operates a combination of twelve-hour and eight-hour shifts to allow for the fluctuations inherent in a rural hospital, as well as diagnostic procedure scheduling.

We are proud to offer an on-site sleep lab that provides studies called Polysomnography (PSG) to identify sleep disorders in a controlled environment. These studies are conducted overnight in a private room within the hospital in which vital signs are monitored and recorded to track respiratory abnormalities.

Inpatient Cardiopulmonary Procedures Include:

  • Oxygen administration
  • Bronchodilator therapy
  • Chest physiotherapy
  • BIIPAP/CPAP management
  • Ventilator management
  • Asthma education program
  • Electrocardiograms
  • ED Trauma team members

Outpatient Cardiopulmonary Procedures include:

  • Electrocardiograms
  • Holter Monitoring
  • Event Monitoring
