INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

What is Information Technology?
Information Technology and Services is the department responsible for the computing infrastructure not only of SLVRMC and the Physician Services Division, but also for Conejos County Hospital, Clinics in La Jara and Antonito, Colorado, the Diabetes Education and Empowerment Program and our Peak Therapy clinics.

We also proudly offer high speed wireless Internet access to all of our patients in their patient room as well as to our visitors in all public areas. All you need to access this free service is a wi-fi enabled laptop or PDA.

Providing consistent, high quality technology services is our contribution to our patients and providers, which in turn enables all of us to make exceptional healthcare personal and possible.

Leadership
Information Technology and Services is lead by the hospital's Director of Information, Tom Motejzik.

Goals and Objectives

  • Guard all data used in the operations of our facilities with the highest levels of security and best practices throughout the technology field.
  • To assure that all data regarding our patients, care, and medical technology are unsurpassed in quality, workflow and ease of use for our staff, clinicians and patients.
  • To ensure the uninterrupted flow of data regardless of events out of our control.
  • To develop reliable primary and alternate sources of system access along with redundancy to meet the data needs of our customers.
  • Implement new or improved systems to allow SLVRMC to meet strategic and tactical goals.
  • Act as a resource to other organizations within the San Luis Valley and the State of Colorado regardless of circumstances to assist in making health information technology (HIT) a viable and reliable source of data our patients and providers can rely on.
  • To conduct business professionally and with unimpeachable ethics.
