NURSING DIVISION: Medical, Surgical and ICU

The Medical surgical and Intensive Care Units are located on the third floor of the San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center. The professional team includes: physicians, nurses, respiratory and physical therapy, pharmacy, dietary and social services who support our commitment to "Making exceptional healthcare personal". They work collaboratively in the provision of family centered services, serving acutely ill patients (newborns to the elderly). The diversity of patient case mix provides tremendous learning and case management experiences.

This unit is comprised of:

• Six Intensive Care beds
• Twenty-eight Medical-Surgical beds
  • Four private rooms
  • One Hospice room

The Medical Surgical and ICU nursing staff currently has:

• RNs
• LPNs
• CNAs
• Ward Secretaries

The3 North staff works collectively as a team and cross-training and mentoring activities are common experiences.

As a regional healthcare facility, we receive patients from other healthcare services and coordinate transition of patient care to supplementary or increased levels of care where we have relationships with local and tertiary providers in Colorado and New Mexico.
