QUALITY AND PATIENT SAFETY
What is the Quality and Patient Safety Department?
SLVRMC formed their formal Quality and Patient Safety Department in 2004 as the need was identified internally and echoed by the SLVRMC Board of Trustees. The department is responsible for collecting and analyzing data from all clinical areas of the organization, reporting the results of the analysis to leadership, and for creating the various programs necessary to ensure that the organization functions in accordance with the latest data regarding best practices, evidence based medicine and quality measures from organizations throughout the nation.
Although in many organizations, Quality and Patient Safety are considered a back-office function, here at SLVRMC we consider ourselves to be integral in patient experience, and we encourage our patients to contact us directly if they feel there are safety or quality issues in the care they receive.
The department is also responsible for all regulatory programs that SLVRMC is a part of such as accreditation with The Joint Commission, CMS Core Measures and others.
Leadership
The Quality and Patient Safety Department is lead by the hospital's Director of Quality and Patient Safety, Tammy Romero.
