Our
patients are injected with a very small amount of radioactive isotope.
Different isotopes are absorbed in many different organs or
tissuesof the body. The machine or camera can pick up these particles
and take a picture of the organ. The radioactive material has a
very short life and will die soon after that picture is taken.
