VOLUNTEER TESTIMONIALS
Why did you become a volunteer?
Although their ages vary and they may drive across town or across the valley their dedication and love for their volunteer work at the hospital is evident by their excitement as they talk about it.
How did you find out about volunteering?
"My husband was in an accident and came into the Emergency Department and was also in ICU for some time. I had first hand experience with the volunteers. I was impressed by the caring attitude of the Ambassadors. I was touched by how genuinely friendly and welcoming they were. After my husband retired, I became an ambassador - and I still have a job."
"My husband died several months ago and I found I had free time on my hands. I wanted to do something to help others."
"I read about it in the newspaper."
What brings you back every week?
"I really do get more than I give."
"It feeds the soul and spirit. It's so rewarding to do for others. We've all become good friends - like a family group."
"I'm a new member and I just moved to the valley. I wanted to meet people and learn about the people. I wanted to give to my new community. This was an excellent way to get involved."
"I love it. I can't wait for the Gift Shop to open so I can volunteer there also."
